Weeks into my lovely new job, I tested positive for Covid (again), and although that was incredibly mild compared to the first time I caught it, I returned to work and immediately came down with a throat infection which has moved into my chest. It’s not like I haven’t tried to quit before. Since my mid-twenties the longest I’ve ever gone without booze is 9 months when I was pregnant. When I was at school, I hated PE. Not only did I dislike the physical exertion, I hated being outside in the cold.
