Why I left Youtube (I’m back now)
Over a year ago, I excitedly started up a Youtube channel where I would talk about minimalism and decluttering. However, about six videos in, my dad got severely ill and I stopped. I talk more about that, here, in my new video. I will be posting more content to my channel in the future, where I will talk more about the minimalist lifestyle, and related content (and I’ll definitely be working on my Youtube skills going forward!) It’s going to be an interesting, exciting endeavour, and I look forward to the journey ahead.

A Return to Youtube
Morning all! I’m writing this before I head out to work for the day and am excited to say I will be returning to creating content for my Youtube channel this week. A lot of things happened before that derailed me and sapped my motivation. I lost my dad, for one thing. I lost my self belief, and for a while, felt like I even lost my writing voice. I carried on writing regardless, but I stopped making video content. I’m not going to lie, I’m nervous, and I’m far comfier with writing than I am with talking. But that’s part of the journey isn’t it? That’s how you get…

Why I’m Experimenting With Extreme Minimalism
This morning, I’m feeling giddy with excitement, inspiration, and curiosity. It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way. Perhaps being over 3 weeks sober has something to do with it. That, and the extreme(ish) minimalist experiment I’m about to undertake. After a Saturday intentionally binging my favourite videogames (which I’d been looking forward to for days), I feel mentally refreshed. Specifically, I feel ready to act on the serious life questions I’ve been asking myself and journalling about for the past couple of months: It’s questions like these that have lead to me questioning my relationship with alcohol (which I’ve now severed), and my relationship with the stuff I…

7 Easy Home Resets for a Brighter Morning
How many times have you woken up, entered your kitchen, and been greeted by a greasy pile of pots and plates? There’s crumbs still on the counters, and a weird gone-off smell is coming from somewhere. Ignoring the mess for later, you make yourself a coffee and walk into the living room, only to trip over your son’s lego ice-cream truck, and you don’t even know where to start looking for the TV remote. Throw cushions are crushed and strewn over the sofa, and the coffee table is covered in random papers, a colouring your child did, and a phone charger. Oh, and there’s something pink and sticky in the…

How I Kicked Writer’s Doubt in the Ass (With Minimalism As My Weapon)
Photo by Markus Winkler on Unsplash I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember. As a child in the early nineties, my parents bought me a typewriter with tall keys you had to fight to make the letters print on the paper. I loved practicing writing on that thing, and the feedback from the keys felt glorious. There was nothing quite like manually turning the paper and seeing the paper rise with words as I typed up a storm. Later, they bought me an electronic one where you could install a tippex ink ribbon to undo mistakes. Because the keyboard worked just like a laptop keyboard, there…
